We are based in an old Victorian public house that opened in 1886 on the site of the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens; immortalised as the ‘Vanity Fair’ in Thackeray’s eponymous novel.

We serve some of the best loose leaf teas available, proper sandwiches and homemade cakes; not to mention the best full English breakfast in London. Our teas have individual subtle flavours which would be overpowered by the instant, coarse, hit of coffee, so we do not sell it.

We make our own marmalade and jams, all for sale by the jar and all our teas can be bought by the ounce online (to view our range click here). Our meat comes from our local butcher and our fruit and vegetables from the local market gardens around us.

We are trying to be different. We will not hurry you. If you visit us on your lunch break, then have one, you will be more productive in the afternoon. If you want to have a meeting, we will not disturb you. If you are ‘working from home’, we have wifi. If you have children, we have highchairs, a chest of toys, and milkshakes. We always have the daily papers, so please, relax, and share in what we are trying to create, take a load off, and have a cuppa.

An exciting story about four friends, emigrants from the post-Soviet space, who met in London 15 years ago, will unfold on the stage of the London Tea House Theatre. Their lives have intertwined over time and space. A bachelorette party on the occasion of Lera's pregnancy, who returned from distant India with a "gift from the ashram," becomes a turning point for each of them. In this thrilling psychological comedy-drama, each friend is forced to face her fears and secret desires. These are not only their personal stories but also a story about friendship, a clash of worldviews, the importance of finding a golden mean, and the courage to accept change.

Margo, with her sharp mind and ambitions, builds her world on material well-being and social status. She is a leader, and it seems she always knows what she is doing and can even teach others how to live. But Lera and the girls bring something into her world that cannot be quantified.

Nina, a beauty with dazzling looks, faces the reality that beauty is not the only value in life. Her perspective on herself and the world changes as she realizes the importance of inner harmony.

Natalie, a successful actress, magnificent and elegant, finds herself trapped by her own expectations, leading to a crisis. Her self-perception leads to serious decisions.

Lera, despite her spiritual wisdom, is also changed at her bachelorette party. She comes to understand that her own ego hinders her understanding of the essence of things and that to be happy, she and her child need to overcome their fears and doubts.

This play allows the audience to see themselves and think about what could be changed in their lives to live a little happier.
