Dear Actors,
Monday Theatre School - Anton Chekhov
A seminal figure in the birth of Modernism.
A study of the "submerged life of the text".
ALL LEVELS WELCOME.
No experience needed.
We are inviting you to the series of three consecutive workshops based on the works of celebrated playwright Anton Chekhov. We will be looking at his lesser known (but equally brilliant) works and using his text as exercise material.
Chekhov is known mostly as a writer, however due to the fact of his involvement with late nineteenth century most progressive theatre practitioners and movements, and especially Stanislavsky and Moscow Arts Theatre, he can be easily considered a theatre practitioner (not only a playwright). His plays, due to their perfect structure and well-drawn characters present a wonderful opportunity for any beginner to master their performing skills.
Classes will include speech and movement exercises, improvisation and of course imagination building exercises and games.
Classes will be held from 7pm.
Limited spaces
Mondays 11th, 18th and 25th July
1 Session £20
Full Course of 3 Sessions £50
