As a continuance of successful previous acting theatre workshops, we are, once again, inviting you to another acting workshops’ series. Three consecutive workshops based on the works of celebrated Russian novelist and poeIvan Turgenev.
Ivan Turgenev one of the masters of Russian novel, known as the most Western amongst Russian classical writers. He spent a lot of time in Europe, in countries such as France, Italy, Germany and absorbed eagerly influences of literary traditions on these respective nations. Turgenev was close friends with Gustave Flaubert (author of "Madame Bovary") and spent hours discussing literature with him.
Apart from being a great novelist Ivan Turgenev was also a poet and a playwright. He left us several very influential plays that form his own Turgenev-style theatre. His play "Evening in Sorrento" became a landmark of late nineteenth century playwrighting due to it's originality and experimental form.
During these three sessions we will explore Ivan Turgenev 's unique theatrical legacy in detail.
