HOLDFAST Theatre Company present
Auld Acquaintance, Clarinda and Sylvander.
World premiere of a New Play by our resident actor, Alain English.
”Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind,
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days of auld lang syne?”
The untold story of Robert Burns in prolific letters.
The Agnes McLehose relationship was the most serious extra-marital affair of Burns’ life and inspired some of his most celebrated work.
Burns referred to Agnes as “Clarinda” in letters, his private nickname for his lover. He wrote: ”I got a letter from Clarinda yesterday and she tells me she has got no letter of mine but one.”
